How To Manage Your Photography Business
Every photography business in the world needs forms to organize a business. Even in commercial photography one needs to create invoices, quotations, bills and so on. However , day by day running of a photography business can leave you with nearly no time for the organization of your documentation. This may leave you in quite a mess at your workplace which, quite honestly, does not look nice particularly if your customers visit frequently.
Organizing your workplace is without doubt a uninteresting job. No-one wants to be stuck handling paperwork, not if you could be spending this irreplaceable time with your folks or behind the camera. Organizing your business can not just save a lot of time, but can give you a true and fair view of where your business really stands and where it is headed in both near and far future.
Here are the top 10 tips that can help you organize your studio in a style which looks better and is more convenient. Use file cabinets or hanging/suspension folders. Even in this modern age of "soft copies" there are tons of things that a paparazzo needs in hard copies. Correspondence, portfolios, clobber manuals etc these are all hard copies and can create a mess unless you utilise a file cupboard or hanging folders.
Always use separate files You should generally use separate files to keep specific documents and reference to them as it is better than one awkward file. You also save a lot of time and reach your preferred document with more ease as compared to looking thru one file.
Clear out assorted folders or miscellaneous folders. Everyone has at least one folder labeled "Misc". This is the folder where you put everything you do not know where to put. There is a high possibility that you could do with clearing out the entire folder. If you haven't needed something from the folder in one entire year, it is exceedingly not likely it is of any specific value.
Employing a good photography studio software will assist you with the above and save you tons of time.

Where to start MASSIVE filing paperwork??
I'm overwhelmed but resolving to fix my problem. I'd like some advice though. I have trashbags of papers to sort.
I don't have any "filing system". I have a tower for hanging files and some hanging folders.
I have papers from New to Three years old. I am a full time college student. I work part time. I sold a home 2 years ago. These are probably where most of my IMPORTANT papers will come from.
What are basic folders I should make. Should I make catagories with sub-catagories?
I'm terribly intimidated, but "getting ready" to start today. AKA cleaning AROUND THE CLUTTER.
Oh, and of course debts are another catagory I will need to explore.
First -- dump all papers into one big pile.
Second -- Sort by Category, remembering to have a Trash pile too. For Example -- School, Real Estate, Taxes, Receipts, Healthcare, Rent, Utilities, Car payments, Bank statements, Credit Card statements, Subscriptions, Pets, Hobbies, Ideas, etc. You will have a Miscellaneous pile most likely. Deal with that later.
Third -- Shred or burn the trash pile for security reasons.
You will feel a sense of organization now. Take a short break and have a snack.
Fourth -- Take each pile and organize by Date - the most recent on top.
Fifth - Now put the pile in its own file folder. Label the folder and put it in the drawer. Organize the drawer alphabetically. Do this with each file and you will be done and organized.
Sixth - Now you can take those really fat files and split them into 2 or more folders, labeling each folder as, say, Real Estate "1 of 3", Real Estate "2 of 3", Real Estate "3 of 3". For Taxes, have a folder for each year if necessary. For School, have a folder for each subject and label it with the semester and year.
If you don't have enough drawers, buy some accordian files like lawyers use.
Oh, and label the Miscellaneous file as "Miscellaneous".
This should help.
