Johnny Depp And Jack Sparrow Visit Meridian School
A school in Southeastern London today got quite the Jack Sparrow surprise. Johnny Depp made a quick visit to the school, giving only a couple of minutes' notice. Asked to visit by a 9-year-old student, Depp visited in full Jack Sparrow gear. Though the student had at first asked for help with a mutiny, they just visited instead.
Johnny Depp receives letter to Jack Sparrow
A letter addressed to Jack Sparrow was written by nine-year old student Beatrice Delap. Johnny Depp plays the character Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean". In the letter, she asked for Sparrow's help with a mutiny at the school. Depp read the letter and decided something needed to be done. He then acted on it. It wasn't too difficult to get over there for Depp. He had been already in London working on the newest "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. He went to the southeast London school with some of the rest of the crew.
Johnny Depp could be here in 10 minutes
Johnny Depp decided last minute that he had been going to visit the school when he had been already dressed up in his Jack Sparrow outfit. The school had been given a 10 minute notice that Depp and a few other actors would be showing up in their pirate outfits. Meridian School easily called an assembly of all its students. Captain Jack Sparrow walked into the assembly with a couple of other pirates. This had been, understandably, a huge surprise to all the students, and he was greeted with great enthusiasm.
There wasn't any real mutiny Meridian
There wasn't any mutiny found at the school, although that had been the purpose for Captain Jack's visit. The students all danced while Jack Sparrow sang a pirate song. Johnny Depp then called Beatrice Delap up to the front. Sparrow/Depp told the student that they couldn't rebel. He said, "Maybe we shouldn't mutiny today because there are police outside monitoring me." The actor, who is a father to two children, gave Delap a hug and posed for photos with the students.
